To ensure the successful preparation of the 2020 China International Fair for Trade in Services (referred to as the "Service Trade Fair", Beijing Business Management Company responded to the request of the Beijing Municipal Leading Group for the Preparation and Service Guarantee of the Service Trade Fair and actively participated in the preparation and market development for the exhibition activities of the Service Trade Fair.
The China International Fair for Trade in Services is a national-level, international, comprehensive service trade fair jointly hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and the Beijing Municipal People's Government. Its aim is to create the world's most influential international exhibition in the field of service trade, deepen international exchanges and cooperation in service trade, and promote the innovative development of the global service industry and service trade through openness. The Service Trade Fair is the world's first comprehensive exhibition in the field of service trade and serves as an important window for China's service industry to open up to the world. Together with the China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai and the Canton Fair (China Import and Export Fair) in Guangzhou, it forms the three major exhibition platforms for China's opening-up. In terms of geographical distribution, these three major fairs have gradually formed a geographic pattern of "South Canton Fair," "Central CIIE," and "North Service Trade Fair."
The 2020 China International Fair for Trade in Services (Service Trade Fair) was the first major international event and economic and trade activity that China hosted since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. It took place in Beijing from September 4th to September 9th, 2020. The 2020 Service Trade Fair successfully completed its investment attraction and exhibition process. It saw participation from international organizations, foreign embassies, overseas chambers of commerce and institutions, and enterprises from 148 countries and regions. The top 30 countries and regions in the field of service trade were all represented by institutions and enterprises, with a total of 18,000 domestic and foreign enterprises and institutions registering for online and offline participation. The fair attracted 381 pre-event achievements and hosted 190 forums and negotiation activities.
This edition of the Service Trade Fair adopted a "cloud-based exhibition hall" approach, combining online and offline elements. It featured one comprehensive exhibition and eight thematic exhibitions, along with multiple functional service areas in the surrounding areas of the exhibition venue, forming a "1+8+N" new model. This format effectively showcased the new trends in service trade and the new achievements of the participants.
Participating in the Service Trade Fair was another major international project for the Business Management Company, following its involvement in the 2019 Beijing International Horticultural Expo. It also represented an active step in implementing the directive of Beijing municipal leaders to "build on the foundation of the Expo and extend beyond the Expo." Leveraging its practical experience gained from the Horticultural Expo, during the preparation and exhibition period of the Service Trade Fair, the Business Management Company primarily provided suggestions and support to the market development team in areas such as the development of licensed products, brand sponsorship, advertising sponsorship, sponsorship VIK (Value in Kind) operation and management, and on-site commercial management. This collaboration effectively contributed to the market development and on-site management of the Service Trade Fair.
