In alignment with the national strategy of the "Belt and Road Initiative" and leveraging the resources from the 2015 Milan Expo, CCUI established a European subsidiary in early 2017, headquartered in Rome. This strategic move aimed to expand CCUI's European business operations, support international investment layouts for its shareholders, seek more government support, and identify outstanding projects.
After thorough preparation, CCUI Europe planned to collaborate with the Italy-China Foundation, utilizing its brand and resources. The goal was to deepen and build the public diplomacy platform between China and Italy, seek strategic positioning for CCUI and its shareholders in international investment banking, garner increased government support, explore more investment-worthy projects, attract and expand international resources, and proactively expand business operations in Europe.
About the Italy-China Foundation:
The Italy-China Foundation was established in Milan on November 11, 2003, with the aim of fostering good relations between the governments of China and Italy. It was formed by merging and perfecting two historically significant Italian organizations, the Italy-China Institute (founded in 1971) and the Italy-China Chamber of Commerce (founded in 1970). The Foundation aims to comprehensively promote exchanges and cooperation between China and Italy in various fields, including politics, economics, culture, education, and health, by supporting and coordinating various activities between the governments and businesses of both countries. Additionally, it seeks to deepen and improve Italy's image and impression in China and reaffirm Italy's economic and strategic position in China.
Both the Italy-China Institute and the Italy-China Chamber of Commerce have played vital roles in fostering connections between China and Italy since the 1970s. The Foundation's activities are reflected in various departments and institutions, including the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Culture, regional governments, the Confederation of Italian Industry, and several major enterprises and financial organizations. The strong ties with the government and important enterprises give the Foundation a unique advantage in the initiation and execution of specific projects between China and Italy.
