On October 10, 2024, CRRC held the "Qihang" 20MW floating offshore wind turbine production ceremony in Sheyang, Jiangsu Province, which marked an important progress in the field of new energy in China and demonstrated the outstanding achievements of CRRC in the research and development of wind energy technology. Jianhua Wei, the chairman of CCUI, and Ling Sun, the general manager of CCUI (Shanghai) Digital Technologies Co.,Ltd., were invited to participate in the event and had in-depth communication with industry experts, project R&D leaders and so on.
According to the person in charge, "Sail" 20MW floating offshore wind turbine power level reached 20MW, is the most powerful floating offshore wind turbine in the world. The wind turbine features a wind wheel with a diameter of 260 meters and a swept area of 53,100 square meters, roughly the size of seven standard soccer fields. The turbine can generate 62 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, enough to power about 37,000 households, saving 25,000 tonnes of coal while cutting carbon dioxide emissions by 62,000 tonnes. With its semi-submersible floating platform and mooring system, the turbine extends wind power's reach into deeper waters.
According to reports, the wind turbine is also embedded with a variety of intelligent control, intelligent sensing and other technologies, which can achieve real-time monitoring and ensure more stable operation.
CCUI looks forward to cooperating with CRRC in future projects, jointly exploring new technologies, new models and new business forms in the field of new energy, jointly promoting the iterative upgrading of the green energy industry, and helping China build a clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient modern energy system.
